Football Victoria is the governing body for football (soccer) in Victoria with a clear purpose to inspire and enable Victorians from all walks of life to live and love football, for life.
As a member federation of Football Australia and through the national body's affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) across the state including:
- semi-professional ranks
- amateurs
- women and girls
- youth
- referees
- coaches
- officials
- volunteers
Our team of more than 70 people helps to deliver over 40,000 football matches every football season, through the scheduling of annual fixtures and by setting appropriate rules of competition. We also support our appointed match officials, alongside the many thousands of club volunteers, in playing a vital role in making the game happen week in, week out.
Due to some internal changes and investment into our people, a fantastic opportunity for a Program Coordinator is currently available at Football Victoria. Reporting to the Head of Growth & Development and based at the world class Home of The Matilda’s in Bundoora, and primarily supporting our G&D team, the role is responsible for the development, oversight, and management of the new Victorian Cup of Nations (“VCON”) tournament, aligning with Football Victoria's core values and the event's overarching objectives.
Furthermore, it is expected that the individual will play a crucial role in ensuring VCON serves as a beacon of diversity, unity, and opportunity, reflecting Football Victoria's commitment to utilizing football as a powerful force for community engagement and social change.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, management, and coordination of on-ground operations related to the VCON tournament, including venue bookings, logistics, fixturing, competition management, marketing/communications strategy, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to showcase and celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of Victoria through the VCON tournament.
- Create strategic partnerships with key multicultural community organisations, Victorian based A League Clubs, and other stakeholders to support the annual VCON tournament, grow engagement, and creating pathways for individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage with the sport.
- Develop a sustainable legacy plan that ensures ongoing connectivity for participants to football opportunities post-tournament.
- Support the broader Growth & Development team in delivery of key strategic/planning projects, and other programs where required.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in sports administration, business, event management, or relevant discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects with good governance and business planning.
- Background in coordination of football, and/or futsal programs, events, and activities.
- Outstanding organisational skills and demonstrated experience of ethical and integrity-based leadership
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Outstanding verbal and written skills that focus on key drivers and strategic outcomes
- Current Working With Childrens Check
- Previous experience in Sporting organisation will be highly regarded.
