Applications are now invited from experienced professionals for our Program Director - Software role. The Program Director - Software is a key senior role within the Engineering and Innovation business unit in our Australia Sector.
Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Managing Director – Engineering and Innovation, Australia Sector, the Program Director will manage a team of geographically dispersed professional software and systems engineers to deliver a diverse portfolio of software projects to budget and schedule across the QinetiQ Australia business.
- Manage the allocation of resources, workload and scope of the team to deliver Business Unit (BU) revenue, profit, utilisation and growth.
- Establish and foster strong customer relationships to identify and capture new, additional and future business opportunities.
- Interact across the QinetiQ Pty Ltd BUs and programs to capture, plan and deliver software requirements to meet internal and external customer needs
- In conjunction with the Deputy Chief Engineer Software and Networked Solutions, continue to develop the software engineering capability required to deliver current and future software projects and tasks
- Manage the recruitment of the team to ensure the BU has the capability to deliver projects and services while also balancing costs and revenue.
- Interact with other BUs within the Engineering and Innovation business to collaborate on resource management, project and task delivery.
- Manage the goals, performance and ongoing development of the BU team.
- Lead and role model a safety first culture across the BU with the continual review, refinement and implementation of work health & safety (WHS) requirements.
As an ideal applicant for this senior role, you will need:
- An extensive programme and technical (engineering, science, technology) background with a strong project delivery focus.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to cultivate a broad network of relationships and influence with key internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to integrate, transform and collaborate across multiple geographical locations, time zones and team dynamics.
- An outcomes focused approach to capability development and uplift through ongoing continuous improvement.
- A strong understanding of software development methodologies
- The ability to develop and tailor solutions to meet schedule, budget and resource constraints.
