Applications are now invited from experienced professionals for our Program Director of Engineering South Australia (SA) role. The Program Director is a key senior role within the Engineering and Innovation business unit in our Australia Sector.

Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Managing Director - Engineering and Innovation, the Program Director will manage a geographically dispersed team to deliver a diverse portfolio of services including project management, engineering, test and evaluation and research & development (R&D) projects to budget and schedule across the QinetiQ Australia business.

In terms of the detail, in this key role you will:

  • Manage the allocation of resources, workload and scope of the team to deliver Business Unit (BU) revenue, profit, utilisation and growth.
  • Establish and foster strong customer relationships to identify and capture new, additional and future business opportunities.
  • Manage the recruitment of the team to ensure the BU has the capability to deliver projects and services while also balancing costs and revenue.
  • Interact with other BUs within the Engineering and Innovation business to collaborate on resource management, project and task delivery.
  • Manage the goals, performance and ongoing development of the BU team.
  • Lead and role model a safety first culture across the BU with the continual review, refinement and implementation of work health & safety (WHS) requirements.

As an ideal applicant for this senior role, you will need:

  • An extensive programme and technical (engineering, science, technology) background with a strong project delivery focus.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to cultivate a broad network of relationships and influence with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to integrate, transform and collaborate across multiple geographical locations, time zones and team dynamics.
  • An outcomes focused approach to capability development and uplift through ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of project delivery methods from professional services to complex R&D projects.
  • The ability to develop and tailor solutions to meet schedule, budget and resource constraints.
