About the role
The Finance/Contract Manager supports the Major Programs Branch and its programs in budgeting, costing/pricing, and contract management functions.
Duties
- Manages and analyses program expenditure (forecast and actual) to ensure operation within budget.
- Provide advice and input into business cases, procurement, governance, and reporting artefacts.
- Work with the Executive Branch Manager and Program Manager to establish and maintain best practice process for Program Finances and contract management.
- Advice on financial controls and best practice.
- Contract management, including drafting of procurement documentation, including contract and/or category management plans.
- Comply with government procurement and contract management policies and legislation, driving value for money outcomes.
- Explores innovative procurement and contract management solutions to solve complex contractual issues.
- Interprets contract requirements, terms, and conditions and ensures that all parties understand and deliver on their responsibilities.
- Leverages relationships with strategic suppliers and customers to manage risk, address issues and maximise contract value.
- Establishes negotiation strategies and facilitates complex contract negotiations.
- Leads the review of expiring contracts and uses results to shape the future procurement strategy to deliver enhanced outcomes.
- Applies and advises on contract variations, exemptions, extensions, expiry, and transition management, recommending/making appropriate decisions based on risk.
