Salary Range of $120,230 to $129,000 Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit
This is an opportunity for your career to make a difference! Work on a ten-year program in its early stages, that seeks to switch the world’s salt supply for a billion people and prevent a million strokes and heart attacks each year. We are looking for a Program Manager to join our team.
The Opportunity:
A recent landmark study by The George Institute identified the potential for switching regular salt to potassium-enriched salt as an effective and acceptable approach for lowering blood pressure and cardiovascular risk.
The Program Manager with the expertise to deliver a large-scale health policy program, will be responsible for refining and delivering the strategy, and building and maintaining collaborations with diverse global partners including multi-lateral agencies, governments, food industry, public health and civil society.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Refine and deliver the 10-year strategy, work streams and interim milestones for ‘Switching the world’s salt supply’
- Build and maintain the internal and external collaborative group(s) required to deliver the long term strategy
- Coordinate activities across team members inside and outside the organization
- Confidently lead or contribute to meetings with national and international stakeholders
- Support ongoing research activities congruent with skill set
- Assist with the development of new research proposals
- Contribute to preparation of funding applications
- Develop and deliver presentations about projects and research findings to stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor more junior team members
- Remain abreast of developments in the field, including the latest research findings and positions of country, regional and global stakeholders
Our Successful Candidate has:
- A post-graduate health, medical, or other relevant qualification
- National and international experience in clinical, public health or policy research
- Proven track record in the delivery of complex large-scale implementation projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to engage with diverse senior stakeholders
- Strong writing skills
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- An ability to think and operate strategically
- Strong leadership potential
- The ability to work flexibly, in small teams and with large groups
- Attention to detail
- Strong focus on quality
- Availability and willingness to travel
