Our esteemed resources business is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team for a 12-month period covering maternity leave. This pivotal role encompasses a wide array of finance duties essential to our operations. Responsibilities:

• Financial oversight of client projects, including comprehensive reporting, processing, and analysis.
• Management of accounts payable, encompassing employee per diems, expenses, and mileage.
• Handling accounts receivable and intercompany invoicing with meticulous attention to detail.
• Executing intercompany reporting and confirmations to ensure seamless communication.
• Processing and converting foreign currency transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Management of corporate credit card statements, reconciliations, and processing.
• Conducting monthly bank reconciliations for local and international accounts.
• Reconciling petty cash and maintaining monthly balance sheets.
• Coordinating payroll and associated journal entries, including superannuation and Payroll Tax.
• Preparation and submission of BAS (Business Activity Statement).
• Maintenance of aged debtors and creditors, along with fixed asset registers.
• Handling prepayments, annual leave, and long service leave provisions.
• Facilitating month-end activities and reviewing preliminary P&L statements.
• Assisting with financial statement preparation and fulfilling auditing duties.

Added to these duties will be the following administration tasks which relate directly to understanding you will need for the project accounting above but add a different flavour to the role making it both operational & commercial focused.

Project Support Duties

* Flights and travel coordination * Training coordination and visas * Maintain Project Files, Document Control and creation * Purchase Orders and stock requisitions * Document analysis, development and review * HSEQ support * Project management support duties

Our client is looking for the skills to indicate that you will be a suitable fit:

• Tertiary education/qualifications in Business/Commerce/Accounting.
• Relevant industry and position experience, preferably in Secretarial/Administrative roles.
• Background as an Accountant/Finance Officer with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in project management to effectively navigate complex tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and adaptability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
