The role
Supporting our iconic Paradise Dam project, the Project Engineer will provide full engineering, technical and administrative support to the Project Manager and the Construction Supervisor. The key responsibilities of the Project Engineer are to ensure the successful completion of the project design and construction deliverables to the specified quality standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provides timely and relevant reporting to the Project Manager and Construction Supervisor on project progress and quality.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager and Construction Supervisor, identifies key areas of variance from the design scope and construction scope.
- Undertaking quality assurance spot checks of design and construction processes performed by consultants/ contractors to ensure Sunwater is receiving high quality deliverables with appropriate quality assurance.
- Liaising with the Project Manager and the Construction Supervisor regularly to ensure that the technical deliverables during the design and construction phases are managed and achieved.
- Liaising with other engineering disciplines to coordinate the engineering work and to ensure all quality, safety and technical aspects of the project are identified and appropriately addressed in the technical documentation and quality plans.
- Manages costs including cost tracking, forecasting and development of budget estimates for scopes of work.
About you
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years’ post graduate engineering experience with a least 3 years’ experience in the construction of Civil Engineering Projects. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Experience or Roads, Bulk Earthworks and preferably working knowledge of TMR standards and compliances.
- Ability to provide technical advice and review and assist with the management of engineering projects associated with the development and management of bulk water infrastructure projects such as dams, and weirs.
- Strong interpersonal skills across consultation, collaboration, negotiation and written skills, including the ability to develop written technical reports, and general project reporting to key stakeholders.
