Project Engineer

Energyze is a specialist electrical consultancy that delivers electrical infrastructure projects for various industries. We work with our clients in the private and public sectors to help accelerate their transition to sustainable energy use. We do this by offering end-to-end expertise across the energy supply chain including but not limited to, renewables, hydrogen, hydrocarbons, power generation, transmission, and distribution. Our team provide concept studies, detailed designs, construction and commissioning support and asset management services.

Energyze is embarking on a rapid expansion program due to its exciting projects wins and upcoming opportunities. We invite applications for the roles of Project Engineer / Snr Project Engineer to join our engineering team focusing on delivering HV substations, mining electrical infrastructure, overhead and underground projects for mining clients and major utilities nationwide.

Responsibilities

1. Developing and coordinating of project scopes and other technical project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Perform key functions in the development of projects including:
   • Developing sound concept engineering solutions and 
   • Coordinating detailed options analysis to inform preferred option decisions.
3. Coordinating detailed front end engineering activities (including tendering) to inform the final investment decision process.
4. Perform key functions during project delivery including: 
   • Engineering management - technical support for project delivery and technical review of design deliverables, 
   • Develop, maintain and manage technical queries through the lifecycle of a project, 
   • Construction management (including on site supervision during construction), Commissioning management (including on site supervision during commissioning).
5. Perform key functions for operational readiness including 
   • assist in the development of operational handover plans to assist in the effective transition of assets from project control to business as usual operational control, 
   • Contribute in the development of asset maintenance strategies and strategic spares strategies for new assets.
6. Undertake technical investigations to determine the required maintenance regime and operational functionality of new assets, including review and assessment of relevant documentation provided by the manufacturer and developed by the project team.
7. Perform key functions during project close out including 
   • assist in the development of operational and asset handover reports and 
   • Coordinate drawing close out including minor back drafting, as built checks and associated filing on site.
8. Communicate and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
9. Undertake regional site visits as required.

About you                                                                                           

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) or Relevant Trade Qualification is mandatory
2. Eligibility for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia (desirable).
3. A diploma in Project Management or equivalent experience is essential.
4. Sound knowledge of energy systems (renewable, generation, transmission and distribution).
5. Sound knowledge of energy systems planning principles and financial analysis evaluation principles.
6. Sound knowledge of renewable, generation, transmission and distribution assets.
7. Strong knowledge of electrical safety principles and network safety management
8. Basic knowledge and understanding of Heritage and Environmental regulations
9. Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act (WA)
10. Knowledge and understanding of Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 (WA)
11. WA Driver’s Licence Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
12. Project engineering experience. (desirable)
13. Construction supervision experience. (desirable)
14. Commissioning manager experience. (desirable)
