Our client, a household name in the rail infrastructure industry, is seeking a highly skilled Operational Control Systems Engineer to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Project Engineering, design rail engineering solutions, engineering investigation and analysis, and development of technologies.
This will be an initial 6-month contract position with the possibility to extend.
What you will perform in this role:

• Interface between head contractors as a client-representative.
• Create RFQs/SRFs for tenders, evaluation, and awarding of projects for the Annual Works plan.
• Develop specifications, quality compliance, and assurance packs.
• Define the engineering requirements, and design and implement appropriate engineering solutions accordingly.
• Define interfaces between disciplines, as necessary, and systems.
• Integrate systems, components, and design solutions.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise for the investigation and analysis of identified engineering system issues.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of Operational Control System maintenance and construction standards, technical maintenance plans, service schedules, ITPs.
• Review design submissions and identify anomalies following design principles and relative standards.
• Review of applications looking to undertake works and obtain access to the network.

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Sound knowledge of Victoria Railway operations
• Strong experience working with IT in operational rail environments
• Proven ability to collaborate across multifaceted teams both internally and with external consultants
• Effective relationship-building skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Current Driver’s License
• Current RIW card (or ability to obtain one)
• Construction Induction Card (or ability to obtain one)
