About the role
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client requirements.
Duties
- Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline, and ensure adherence to project deliverables.
- Coordinate and manage project resources, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct feasibility studies, analyze data, and provide technical recommendations to support project decision-making.
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure project designs meet industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to mitigate project delays or budget overruns.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear and effective project communication and resolve any project-related issues.
- Prepare and present project reports, including project status updates, budget analysis, and technical documentation, to stakeholders and senior management.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
- Previous experience within a similar role - water infrastructure, civil (drainage) or SMP
- Exposure working within a mine site environment
- Previous experience working on the contractor side of projects would be advantageous
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
