Community Development Directorate

The City’s Community Development Directorate provides a broad range of facilities, services, projects, and events that directly impact the daily lives of our 224,000 residents and visitors.

The Directorate works to develop safe and vibrant places and deliver services and facilities to support a community that is healthy, welcoming and thriving.

About the Position

This position provides coordination, leadership and strategic support in relation to the development and implementation of Community Partnerships, community development strategies and grant funded projects. The teams develop and implement collaborative responses to address community needs and aspirations including responses to complex social issues.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Team Leader Community Partnerships & Projects will include but are not limited to:

  • Strong Leadership Capability
  • Develops and Maintains Community Partnerships
  • Provides Efficient and Responsive Services
  • Sound Project Planning and Financial Management

About You

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Demonstrated professional leadership experience in community development or a related field
  • Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a diverse team of staff, volunteers and students
  • Ability to develop Partnerships and innovative solutions to community needs
  • Knowledge of community engagement strategies and demonstrated experience involving community members in service development and decision making
  • Highly developed communication, facilitation and negotiation skills

This role also requires a valid Working With Children Check.

This permanent full-time position is a Level 8 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $103,131.93 - $108,559.10 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:

  • A copy of Australian driving licence
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
  • Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
  • The right to work in Australia
