Design & Build are currently working with a strong civil contractor who have been awarded a construction and maintenance project in Port Augusta. You will be joining a multifaceted tier 2 contractor with a strong reputation in the market who continue to grow!
We are looking to bring in a Project Manager with a civil background to manage approx. $2m per annum of work on the contract.

- Work with other senior leaders to provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance to the SMS and CRMS/RMS teams, and other grading programs as well as management of internal and external relationships and contract performance
- Delivers timely and high quality SMSs and other annual grading programmed works while achieving value for money, maintaining collaborative working relationships, and providing flexible and responsive services to meet DIT’s and customer needs
- Liaises with the Managers, the HSEQ Manager, and Supervisors to ensure all services are delivered in accordance with all safety, quality, environmental, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Liaises with the stakeholders to develop accurate estimates for SMSs, ensuring market competitiveness costing is obtained from subcontractors and suppliers
- Quality Control as per specification
- Document Control in Share Point
- Ensuring correct cost control & project tracking as per daily progress reports
- Travel, as required, to the work sites to provide the required engineering guidance and inspection
- Relevant Bachelor of Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline, combined with advanced subject matter knowledge across the function and advanced people management skills.
- Experience in a Project Manager role and/or knowledge of the construction industry, design management and engineering project management principles, and site management principles including an understanding of employee relations and union agreements, safety, risk management and field related issues.
- Commercial acumen and analytical skills for managing inputs and outputs of a commercial assignment, combined with planning and organisational skills for managing competing priorities
- Problem solving, technical and analytical skills to support the implementation of organisational policies, procedures and programs and project engineering operations
- Written and verbal communication skills to persuade, facilitate decision making, manage expectations, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
