About Blue Economy CRC
The Blue Economy CRC (BE CRC) is an independent not-for-profit organisation and is a Cooperative Research Centre under the Australian Government's CRC Program. The BE CRC brings together 45 industry, government, and research partners from ten countries with expertise in aquaculture, marine renewable energy, and maritime engineering to address the challenges of offshore food and energy production.
About the Role
Preferably based in Hobart, the Project Manager Blue Policy and Planning will play a key role in a series of crucial projects being undertaken by the BE CRC, including the Futures of Seafood Project, Decarbonisation of Aquaculture Project and the portfolio of work related to the establishment and operation of R&D activities in Blue Economy Zone(s).
Reporting to the Director of Blue Policy and Planning, this is an incredible opportunity to work autonomously and make the role your own. You will work closely with strategic partners contributing to the implementation of activities and reporting associated with a portfolio of Blue Economy CRC Memorandums of Understanding. You will play a role as a brand ambassador representing the BE CRC at meetings, conferences, and events.
With funding already secured for these flagship projects, your role will be to work with the Director to implement the scope of work and deliver on stated outcomes. The role will require a high level of written communication including the writing of reports, and production of other written content, so the ability to craft communications and will be key to this role. Experience in the use of project planning and communications tools including Monday and Canva is highly desirable. It is a fast-paced environment where not everything is controlled by the team at Blue Economy and has stakeholders across Industry, government, and participants across research projects, so there will be a need to juggle competing priorities and manage multiple programs of work at one time.
About you
You will be a self-driven individual who works well with others to achieve exceptional outcomes, a person who is hungry for what comes next and has the desire to make a powerful contribution. You will exercise good judgment, value collaboration, and inject your sense of humour and enthusiasm into everything you do.
To be successful you will be an experienced Project Manager with a flair for building connections and influencing policy, and have a proven ability to navigate complex projects, report writing, and stakeholder management.
You will have a background and qualifications in natural resources, aquaculture, fisheries, or ocean industries. Experience in sustainability, policy development, government or research is also advantageous to the role.
