The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the strategic objectives of Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) are achieved through delivering projects in accordance with the agreed scope (on time, within budget and scope).The incumbent is recognised as an expert in the field of project management, including business case development.
The Project Manager reports directly to the Business Improvement Manager, who reports to the Global Operations Leader. The position requires regular liaison with project team members, FCTG executives, key stakeholders within FCTG and potentially additional third parties.
What you will be doing:
Develop and maintain a Business Case for each assigned project:
Business Case aligned to achieve agreed outcomes
Business Case is agreed by relevant stakeholders, which may include the Business Leader, FCNZ SWOT and relevant Steering Committee, with reviews at each stage of the project lifecycle to confirm its continued viability
Develop and maintain a Project Management Plan with sufficient detail to demonstrate how the project will be managed through the lifecycle including:
Objectives
Scope, Time, Cost, Resource and Quality baselines
Risks, Constraints, Assumptions and Dependencies
Follow appropriate approval process
Manage delivery of project products (Deliverables) in accordance with criteria agreed in the Project Management Plan. Examples of plans that inform the overarching Project Plan include:
Scope Management Plan
Requirements Management Plan
Schedule Management Plan
Cost Management Plan
Quality Management Plan
Procurement/Vendor Management Plan
Manage issues and risks
Manage Project resources effectively
Manage change control
Prepare and deliver accurate, relevant and timely reporting including status reports, steering committee reports plus any ad-hoc reporting as required
What you will need:
Proven experience/ knowledge in a project management capacity
Knowledge of the travel industry highly desirable
Demonstrated ability in utilising program/project governance frameworks
Previous experience in Business Transformation or significant business change projects highly desirable
Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies, concepts and principles – able to be adapted to FCTG’s environment and culture
Demonstrated knowledge of Business Case development, including benefits identification, analysis and subsequent monitoring
Demonstrated knowledge of Benefits Realisation Plan development and handover to BAU
Demonstrated ability in analysing and reporting project performance and status, e.g. quality, time, and budget, risk, forecasting, etc.
Project Management qualification desirable e.g. Project Management
Professional (PMP) or Prince2, Scrum Master etc; OR Demonstrable experience working within a Project Managementframework such as Prince2 or managing Agile projects
