A highly regarded & respected Government organisation requires an adaptable and enthusiastic Project Manager (ideally with Engineering qualifications) to provide oversight, coordinate and assist with scoping and delivering works focused on the repairs and upgrades of office and surrounding accommodation sites while working closely with relevant stakeholders and the Property division. This position will ideally suit a professional eager to learn and develop their skills in Government (Client Side) and Project Management - working with specialised contractors and consultants. Your new role
Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for:Project managing minor works and upgrade projects including (but not limited to) CCTV security surveillance upgrades across multiple sites in Victoria
Scoping, planning, reviewing, implementing, and managing delivery of works
Engaging with and coordinating specialist consultants and contractors
Weekly site visits and working closely with building and property managers
Reporting to senior management and liaising with relevant stakeholders to progress worksWhat you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical)
Project Management qualifications are highly desirable
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work independently once up and running, with the nous to solve problems and find solutions
A motivated professional with a can-do attitude. An inquisitive nature with the willingness to learn
Public sector, education or not for profit experience, desirable but not necessaryWhat you'll get in return
Successful employment will present an initial 6-12-month position with a high opportunity for extensions beyond. You will have access to an excellent hourly rate, up to $619 per day + Super, with access to fleet vehicles and laptop. This position will see you facilitate works that will promote a safe working place that will directly impact staff and the wider community.The successful applicant will require all appropriate national security checks on commencement.
