The Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of stakeholders. The successful candidate will understand the legal and regulatory requirements when it comes to electrical and or mechanical Major Works projects within Fire Services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Creating detailed project plans that include timelines, budgets, resources and risk management strategies
- Ensure that the project stays within it’s scope by managing changes and ensures project goals are met
- Manage the allocation of resources including people, time and materials to ensure that they are used effectively and efficiently
- Ensure project budgets are tracked to ensure the project stays within budget
- Identify and manage risks that could impact project’s success including identifying potential issues and developing contingency plans
- Manage project teams, including setting team goals, assigning tasks and providing feedback and guidance
- Ensuring that the project deliverables meet quality standards by managing project quality control and quality assurance activities
- Monitor project progress and reports on project status to stakeholders including identifying project milestones and tracking progress against timelines
- Previous electrical Project Management experience within Fire ServicesMajor Works including Defence
- Previous technical knowledge and skills relating to fire protection services or field operations
- Solid understanding of the technical aspects of projects including software or equipment requirements
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership & team building skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, delegate and make decisions as required
- Strong planning and organisation skills including the ability to define scope, identifying deliverables, milestones and creating project timelines
- Solid budget, financial management & time management skills
- Solid risk management skills and technical expertise within Fire Services and Major Works
- High attention to detail with strong prioritisation, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/under pressure environment with tight deadlines
