We’re currently recruiting for multiple Project Managers for our client, a major public transport operator. These roles will be overseeing the identification, planning and development phases of a variety of railway Structures, Civil, Facilities, and/or Track projects.
This is a six-month contract role with the opportunity for extension, offering a hybrid working arrangement.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee the Identification, Planning, and Development phases of projects across structures, civil, and facilities disciplines, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery
- Establish and manage dynamic work packages, delegating tasks to available project management resources as needed
- Ensure compliance with the Design Management and Works Readiness Process as well as internal and external policies, standards, and requirements
- Handle procurement of long lead-time materials and coordinate their timely delivery to project sites
- Prepare and manage Change Requests to address changes in scope, budget, or schedule, securing necessary approvals within deadlines
- Engage with stakeholders to document and agree on project requirements, and provide comprehensive project reporting, including financial forecasts for KPI tracking
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for RFIs and perform on-site activities such as site validation and surveys
- Prepare RFQs, manage tendering for investigation and design packages, and conduct options analysis with corresponding reports
Skills and Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or similar)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Engineering, Projects, Renewals, Planning, Asset Management or similar within rail structural design / maintenance / renewal
- Experience working in rail or related heavy industries would be beneficial (e.g. track, civil, structures, road, defence, oil & gas, mining, power, utilities, telco, government)
- Good written and spoken English language skills, including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels
