Period of Appointment

Fixed term for 24 Months

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties
  • Effectively manage the implementation of the expansion of the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) scheme to ensure the achievement of the Government’s commitment to the protection of children and Vulnerable People.
  • Coordinate the day to day management of the Expansion, ensuring that policy, process and project deliverables are delivered on time and deadlines are met.
  • Undertake substantial communication, consultation, negotiation and liaison within the Department and with other government departments, as well as the Community, the non-government sector, professional associations and other key stakeholders to ensure their input into the expansion.
  • Conduct research into emerging legal and policy issues relevant to the expansion of the RWVP scheme and maintain a watching brief on issues, state and national initiatives and provide advice and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop, or contribute to the development of, correspondence, forms, communication material, Minutes, Cabinet Minutes, instructions for Parliamentary counsel and documentation, Executive Council papers and project and policy documents.
  • Prepare high level reports and briefings for the information and decision of the Minister, Secretary and other relevant persons in regard to the project and associated policy and legislation.
  • Brief Ministers, Heads of Agency, Sponsor and other stakeholders, represent the Agency in high-level interdepartmental and intergovernmental forums.
Essential Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration Working with Vulnerable People (Registration Status-Employment).
Desirable Requirements
  • Demonstrated project and change management experience.
