The Opportunity
We are working with an inner-city local council that is undergoing a significant new program of work and we are looking for a Project Manager with experience running RFT, Tender and vendor management projects to join our on site team for an initial 6 months period.
Commencing early in July the role is an end to end project management role, managing a number of small to medium projects, ensuring requirements are defined, RFT documents are developed and delivered, vendors are approached and briefed, responses evaluated, vendors appointed and implementation projects are delivered.
Specific tasks will include:
- Leading and project managing the assigned projects with a key focus on Request for Tender of IT services.
- Engage with all key stakeholders through the project lifecycle to achieve timely and desired outcomes and managing costs.
- Managing selected vendor (where appropriate) performance during the project, following relevant contracts and the project schedule and coordinating vendor variations for consideration and approval by the Steering Committee.
- Preparing executive-level project reports and regular project status reports.
- Managing interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives and maintaining a strategic view over the set of projects.
This is an immediate (early July) start and a Key Selection Criteria Document will need to be completed so to qualify you will be able to demonstrate:
Extensive IT Project Management experience, ideally in local or state government or similar including:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional project management experience implementing large projects where IT Services have been acquired via a Request for Tender.
- Project planning and execution, financial management, issue and risk management, stakeholder management and developing and delivering effective communications.
- Manage inter-team activities and project dependencies to ensure alignment on goals, project priorities and delivery dates.
- Management of multiple projects simultaneously – which have spanned across multiple business units.
Ability and willingness to be on site in Melbourne's inner Eastern suburbs 3 days per week.
