We are an industry leader within the Locksmithing and Electronic Security sector and due to our incredible success and continued growth, we are seeking to employ someone to work in a dual-purpose role as a Project Manager and Estimator.
This role will be varied and exciting. In your Project Management role will see you responsible for providing support to the teams involved in various sized projects across the full life cycle of a project. This includes assisting with inception (job creation) planning, site management, commissioning, and handover. You will ensure that all facets of a project are delivered on time, to budget, to the required standards and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
When you have your estimating hat on, you will your experience to support and help lead our estimating team across electronic security projects. This will see you assisting with the initial tender / project specifications, preparation of detailed sales estimates, job creation and management of variations & handover materials. Both roles will require you to be able to demonstrate best practice initiatives while striving to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be experienced in reading and interpreting site drawings to ensure you have a good understanding of our client’s needs, then working with our estimating team to cost and design security solutions creating cost estimates and quotes. Once a project is won, you will work with our electronic security team to ensure jobs run to plan and to budget.

Some of your duties will include but won’t be limited to;
- Develop and maintain a strong and sustainable relationship with clients
- Ensures contractual requirements are met and communicated effectively
- Oversee and approve the design, estimating, procurement and drawing requirements for the project
- Liaise with the Project Co-Ordinator to ensure appropriate resources are available for scheduled work
- Identify in real time, any cost variations that may be applicable based on information provided by Project Technicians or by being onsite
- Manage variations on projects with the client and Project Co-Ordinator
- Provide detailed project handovers (onsite) to Technicians (Day 1)
- Active participation in site meetings
- Responsible for compliance with OH&S legislation including development of required documentation in conjunction with our HR team.
- Assist the Project Co Ordinator to manage and schedule the planning of activities, sequence of work and productivity to ensure deliverables are met
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to gather information on client requirements and project specifications.
- Analyse schematics, technical drawings and relevant documentation to create detailed and accurate estimates for electronic security projects, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and electronic security.
- Utilise industry best practices, cost data, and historical project information to develop comprehensive cost estimates and project timelines
- Manage the financial performance of the project by actively monitoring all aspects of the project ensuring procurement, productivity, financials, and valid variations are issued in a timely manner.
- Engage and manage our approved subcontractors to carry out works including managing contract terms and costings
- Communicate issues likely to affect cost, quality or timeframes
This is a multifaceted role where you will be expected to manage competing priorities, whilst providing exceptional service and support.
Ideally you will have;
- A comprehensive understanding of the Security Industry (Tecom, Inner Range, Gallagher or Salto highly regarded but not mandatory)
- Experience with CCTV, Access Control and Electronic Security
- Managing project budgets of $1,000,000 plus.
- Experience in managing projects for and liaising with Tier 1 builders.
- Experience in overseeing a site team of Technicians.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with Customer representatives, site contacts, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Commercial acumen and financial management; able to manage to budget
- and P & L’s.
- Experience installing, servicing or specifying / estimating Electronic Security products, specifically CCTV, Access Control & Alarms
- The ability to read schematics and floor plans as well as prepare detailed and accurate quotes and information to include in tender responses
