Our client is currently looking for a Project Manager to join their team on a 6-to-12-month contract basis. This role will be supporting the Manager of Property Project with land identification, investigation and acquisition, land disposals, and the Project Management of the new facility construction.
Skills and experience required for the role are:
- Managing a program of related works
- Experience with managing consultants teams and stakeholders
- Experience with land acquisition, sales and development
- Preferred experience with change management processes and principles
- Experience as a Project Manager in construction
- Knowledge or experience in land development and planning
Role Description:
- Coordinates the provision of project management services including the development, initiation, and refurbishment of new and existing properties.
- Manages and arranges the provision of asset solutions consistent with the Department and commercial best practice. This includes the management of consultants and contractors who are engaged to provide advice and support.
- Manages and/or undertakes complex/ specific investigations and research for the delivery of asset requirements.
- Develops internal and external briefing documents suitable for Executive and Ministerial review
- Develops internal project management documents including but not limited to cost, risk, resource, delivery, and communications plans.
- Represents the Department at site meetings, working groups, committees etc.
- Develops and implements risk management strategies that minimise the organisation’s exposure.
- Undertakes other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in the project management of building construction and managing a program of similar works across diverse sites.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with people at all levels in various contexts.
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as a team member/leader.
- Experience managing accommodation retrofits and facility modifications in occupied buildings
