The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to lead projects in the areas of Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing the development and delivery lifecycle of government sector projects, preferably on the client side but contractor-side experience will also be considered.
This role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budget, resources, and risks.
- Work with stakeholders to gather project requirements and prepare proposals and business cases.
- Manage project execution from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with plans and schedules.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and quality, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, government authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular meetings and provide updates on project status, issues, and changes.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular quality and safety audits to ensure standards are met and address potential hazards.
- Promote a culture of quality and safety, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Track expenditures, implement cost-control measures, and present financial reports to senior management.
- Coordinate project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment and allocating resources effectively.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the Water-Wastewater, Drainage, Waterways and Wetlands, and Utilities sectors.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the water and utilities sectors.
- Experience in managing government sector projects, preferably on the client side.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within scope, time, and budget.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
