We are one of 18 water corporations operating and reporting to the State Government of Victoria.
We are responsible for servicing 21,916 customers from 27 townships across an area covering 300 square kilometres, encompassing Millowl (Phillip Island) and mainland communities from The Gurdies to Archies Creek.
The region has one of the highest ratios of visitors to residents of any destination in Australia. During peak periods, there can be approximately 120 visitors to every resident.

About the role - Fixed Term (12 months), Full Time
Project Manager- Water Industry
The Project Manager - Water Industry will contribute to the successful delivery of the capital works programs by providing engineering and technical services and project management for the construction and development of water, wastewater and recycled water assets.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Lead and manage all aspects of assigned water and wasteWater Projects from approved concepts to completion.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and internal resource requirements.
- Manage project risks and ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental standards and technical requirements
- Provide technical expertise regarding design, feasibility analysis and cost estimation, tender documentation and evaluation, contract documentation, supervision, administration and conflict resolution;
- Ensure all projects are consistently and diligently managed as per the Westernport Water's Project Management Framework and all Gate approvals are adhered to;
- Provide specialised technical support to the Operations and Maintenance Department and other departments as required;
- Lead and implement a "safety first culture", and adherence to the Westernport Water's Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Asset Management Systems;
- Provide outstanding customer service to stakeholders and customers and encourage a proactive and collaborative approach to future planning solutions;
- Effectively translate technical issues and tailor information appropriately for each audience in the simplest form with clear and meaningful deliverables;
- Provide appropriate, adequate and timely information and reporting regarding the progress of the capital works program and individual projects for the Executive, Board Meetings and other regulatory requirements;
- Demonstrate and encourage innovation, initiative and teamwork in the delivery of the Corporation's corporate objectives and strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering or similar (preferred);
- Substantial experience in the application of project management principles and ability to ensure governance to frameworks, documentation and systems within the Water Industry (preferred);
- Substantial knowledge and experience in design and/or construction principles and practises supported by high level contract management skills;
- Demonstrated track record in undertaking and completing projects on time, within budget and with due application of contractor OHS, quality and environmental managements systems;
- A current driver's licence suitable for Victoria;
- Construction Induction - White Card, Level 2 First Aid, Confined Space Entry, Working Safely at Heights, Trenching and Shoring (preferred)
