Job description

This role is offered on a Temporary Full-time basis until 30 June 2024, unless otherwise determined. As the Project Officer, you will partner with all areas of Organisational Safety and Wellbeing to lead the strategic support for committees and provide essential administrative and logistical support to projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake and participate in designated project and organisational change activities.
  • Resolve problems and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes and systems for effective and efficient administration of departmental services.
  • Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of plans, policies and procedures and in managing processes.
  • Closely monitor timeframes and report any potential slippages.
  • Provide clear and regular reporting on agreed key performance indicators to assist in monitoring and decision making.
  • Attend meetings with departmental officers to discuss, evaluate and revise plans, systems and procedures.
  • Disseminate regular information to all departmental staff on significant departmental initiatives relating to the intent and purpose of the activities of the unit.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of policies, processes and protocols relevant to the position.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:
  • Demonstration of advanced secretariat skills to provide high level confidential executive and secretariat support to several governing committees
  • Manage the workflow of correspondence by liaising and consulting with internal and external clients regarding sensitive and confidential matters in line with priorities established by the Executive Director, monitoring important issues, and following up on action when required.
  • Undertaking key project deliverables, including documentation, coordination, and communication to achieve project outcomes
  • Liaising and engaging with a high level of professionalism with internal and external stakeholders, and represent the department, with a particular focus on the department's health and safety requirements
  • Apply an understanding of departmental priorities and initiatives to coordinate timely preparation of relevant briefs, correspondence or corporate documents
This role will work within Organisational Safety and Wellbeing team with a focus on continuous improvement and customer focused principles. While the vacancy is based at Brisbane Central Office, the location can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
