The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
The Assessment Operations Unit in the Assessment and Reporting Division has two positions available - one ongoing and fixed term (till 24/12/2024).
The Assessment Operations unit is responsible for:
- logistical and administrative processes associated with the conduct and administration of VCE examinations
- development, implementation and review of the VCE examination timetable and associated assessment schedules
- recruitment, training and monitoring of sessional staff appointed to mark VCE external assessments
- managing the marking of externally assessed VCE assessments including the GAT
- developing, managing and reviewing the VCAA Special Provision policy and procedures This Unit is based at the VCAA Assessment Centre in Coburg.
The role works in a team responsible for planning, implementing and reviewing a range of processes enabling the delivery of the VCAA's Special Provision program, including: Special Examination Arrangements, Derived Examination Scores and General Achievement Test exemptions.
The position is responsible for:
- Providing authoritative advice to schools, parents, students and other stakeholders about the Special Provision policy and program
- Responding to stakeholder enquiries via phone and email
- undertaking administrative and business tasks to ensure the Special Provision program objectives and timelines are met.
- Contributing to the regular planning and review of the Special Provision program
