About the roles
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for two Project Officers to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
The roles will provide diverse project management and related support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, implementing, monitoring project plans, and undertaking spatial analysis of environmental, cultural and historic assets to inform risk planning.
Essential requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management, and land, forest, fire and threatened species management.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
- Experience in the use of Geographic Information Systems to conduct ecological assessments and working with external vendors and fire-fighting authority project partners
Key Duties
- Support the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of the NPWS fire management program
- Support the development of bush fire risk and ecological fire monitoring metrics.
- Support Bush Fire Management Committee’s to use bushfire risk assessments to prioritise mitigations actions that will protect vulnerable environmental, cultural and historic assets from the impact of bushfires.
