About the role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Scheduler to join our Project Controls team in a full time and permanent capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.
Reporting to the Team Lead – Project Scheduling, this role will be responsible for the end-to-end creating, updating and coordinating multiple project schedules across our construction related projects. In addition, this role will work closely with other team leaders to assist in building, evaluating and optimising project schedules.
The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent skills in areas of verbal & written communication and stakeholder management, as you will be required to establish and maintain relationships over the course of multiple projects. In addition, this person will also have strong organisational and time management skills as you will be required to operate in a fast-paced environment, and be able to efficiently handle multiple shifting priorities in order to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
What you’ll deliver:
- Work with the project team to develop, maintain and manage the project schedule; to include development, engineering, construction, supply chain, testing & commissioning, and other regulatory related activities
- Participate in regular project team meetings across multiple projects. Assist the project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on the project progress
- Identify activities impacting the schedule’s critical path and facilitating the identification of opportunities to accelerate completion of the work, or measures to avoid potential delays
- Provide schedule analysis and metrics to key stakeholders on a regular basis
- Work with the project leadership team to perform scenario analysis and provide data to enable decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Provide technical support to, and liaise with, key stakeholders to modify, update or risk assess delivery outcomes
To succeed in the role you’ll have:
- Significant experience (5+ years) in project scheduling in an Engineer Procure Construct environment
- Proven experience in project planning/scheduling techniques
- Proficiency and proven hands-on experience with scheduling software, with a strong preference placed on MS Project, and Primavera P6
- Demonstrated understanding of critical path methodology to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- A bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management (advantageous)
- Certification through Oracle, PMI or other similar organisation focused on recognition of expertise in Project Management (advantageous)
- Project planning and scheduling experience in Construction and/or Transmission & Distribution industry (advantageous)
