The Opportunity
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 ICT Asset and Management Officer within Finance Branch.
DPS supports the functioning of Australia's Parliament and the work of parliamentarians through professional services, advice and facilities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly committed individual to join the Financial Services Team within the Finance Branch. As part of a small team you will report directly to the Assistant Director - Assets and Accounting, primarily responsible for the management of assets including procurement of ICT assets for the Australian Parliament House, and Electoral Offices.
To be successful in this role you will have strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills, and high level of attention to detail.

  • Experience in communicating effectively in accounting and/or other relevant areas,
  • Experience in undertaking high level analytical and problem-solving work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity,
  • Experience in developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships,
  • Proven ability to contribute to a positive work culture,
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks, accounting standards and Government process, and
  • Experience with SAP and Management of ICT assets in ServiceNow.
Job Specific Requirements:
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Duty Statement
Classification: Parliamentary Service Level 6
Branch: Finance Branch
Immediate supervisor: Assistant Director, Assets and Accounting
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Assist in managing the ICT assets of the Department of Parliamentary Services, Australian Parliament House, and the Electoral Offices.
2. Assist in managing procurement and additions of ICT equipment including laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other ICT related equipment in accordance with the capital project budget.
3. Assist in managing the replacements and disposals of ICT equipment and ensure that these are reflected in the ServiceNow asset management system and the SAP fixed asset register.
4. Assist in managing the movements of ICT assets including movements relevant to cessations, warranty replacements, and requests from the ICT equipment store.
5. Undertake annual stock-take of ICT assets and assist with the valuation of ICT assets by the independent external valuer.
6. Contribute to business process improvement initiatives.
7. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
8. Other tasks as required.

Salary
Currently, the salary range for this position is $90,634 - $101,866 per annum.
Conditions of Employment
Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
  • Australian citizenship - to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Health assessment - a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
