Client Details
The business supplies tens of thousands of products used everyday in engineering, manufacturing and construction. Over recent years there turnover has grown double digit year on year. They are now a $500m business with 40 + sites delivering across the country to the fast paced construction and engineering sectors.
Description
Reporting to the Procurement Lead the Purchasing Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the organization. The role is vital in maintaining positive vendor relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Specifically you will cover:
Procurement planning; Working with other departments to identify purchasing requirements and develop plans, identifying and evaluating suppliers and proposals and quotations
Purchasing order processing; Generate purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, pricing and delivery times, coordinate with suppliers around order processing, shipment and processing
Supplier management; Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through accurate communication evaluating their performance regularly
Inventory management; Monitor inventory levels and forecasts to optimise stock holding whilst working internally to identify excess inventory
Compliance; Maintain accurate procurement records, preparing reports and analytics
Profile
You have several years experience in a purchasing/ procurement role handling transactional purchasing, supplier queries and supporting a busy procurement team. Ideally you have worked in an engineering, construction or product distribution environment where you have had to deal with a variety of SKUs and products on a daily basis.
