Position Title: Registered Nurse
Employment Status: Full Time
Reports to: Wellness Manager
Position Purpose:
To provide supervision, direction and support to the Community Care team including Carers, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses in accordance with the Legislation and Nursing Standards.
To actively participate in developing and maintaining a culture that promotes and respects the vision, and values of Odyssey in which the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing of the residents is paramount.
Key Requirements:
- Must have current AHPRA registration
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain if required
- Other recent certificates e.g. infection control, manual handling etc. would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Occupational health and safety
- Ability to work a rotating roster for afternoon /Night duty shifts
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with the provisions of the Retirement Village Act, Aged Care Act and of the Nurses Professional Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
- Must have a current Australian Federal Police check
- Must have annual Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
Key Skills/Experience:
- A keen interest in residential aged care, home care and flexible home care or a health service as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in delegating work within a structured environment, including replacing shifts, care service records, etc.
- Ability to understand and react responsively to resident centered care
- Ability to relay information in assisting the Wellness Manager with the development of nursing strategies/improvements within the community and/or care team, as necessary
- Sound written and oral communication skills – fluent in both written and spoken English
- Demonstrated commitment towards professional development and maintenance of mandatory Competencies and education.
