Fresh to Go Foods is a national manufacturer of quality, short shelf life fresh foods. As a true National Provider our Manufacturing sites operate in six locations across Australia, ensuring we are positioned to service large national and state based customers.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to satisfactorily perform duties under the direction of the Quality Assurance Coordinator in the processes taken to ensure the quality of our products is maintained or further improved where need be.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct test sampling in accordance with company’s Microbiological Sampling Schedule and any additional testing required
- Conduct monthly GMP & hard plastics audits for site
- Raise supplier, internal and customer non-conformances, follow up corrective actions and update national register
- Monitor verification records; production, warehouse, distribution and highlight gaps to relevant staff members
- Conduct daily finished product assessments and record results in line with current schedules and requirements.
- Complete staff training when required to do so, from training modules
- Induct new staff on food handling and hygiene as per company induction procedure
- Monitor internal calibrations and temperature records for the site
- Carry out quality checks on the lines ie; weight checks, ingredient traceability, metal detection and highlight any gaps with relevant staff
- Assist production staff with online queries
- Assist QA Coordinator with audits for the site and following up non-conformances etc.
Knowledge, skills and qualities
- Food Technology and/or Science Qualification desirable, or extensive experience working in a high care production facility
- Sound knowledge of HACCP principles, with exposure to CFMSR & BRC standards preferred.
- A working knowledge of continuous improvement methods and processes
- A practical understanding of contemporary organisation behaviour and management of change principles
- Experience in positively influencing people and to initiate and deliver change
- Intermediate level of proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to pick up internal systems quickly and adapt
- Able to work in chilled environment and deal with issues in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment
