The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a QA Officer within our Quality Assurance Department. Reporting to the QA manager in a Quality team of four, this role will include:
- Ensuring compliance to feed industry (i.e. FAMI-QS) and Australian regulatory standards.
- Conducting internal audits on system processes and investigating non-conformance issues.
- Assisting with the assessment of new ingredients, maintaining ingredient testing and inspection plans, creation of Certificates of Conformance, shelf-life extensions, customer and vendor questionnaires and other Quality related documents.
- Liaising with suppliers for documentation such as Safety Data Sheets, specifications sheets, labels, certifications, and licences.
- Assisting with HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points), VACCP and TACCP (feed fraud, adulteration, and defence) programs and monitoring requirements to ensure feed, food safety and quality standards.
- Liaise with the QA Manager, Production Manager and Supervisors on Quality issues. Work collaboratively to promote quality awareness & practices.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of systems and processes to achieve efficiency objectives.
- Based on site at our production and warehouse facility.
About you/ what you’ll bring
- Experience in feed, food or pharmaceuticals preferred.
- Degree or diploma qualified in relative discipline.
- Hands on approach with high attention to detail.
- Ability to gather data, perform basic statistical analysis and present data for various quality and technical processes.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience with HACCP, VACCP & TACCP advantageous.
- Experience with feed industry standards such as FAMI-QS, APVMA GMP or FeedSafe advantageous.
- Work well under pressure.
- Own reliable transport.
