About the role
This critical senior role is pivotal in heading up the quality function and partnering with the business, to maintain our regulatory compliance and licences and our focus on quality assurance.

Reporting into Executive director level, we are seeking an inspirational leader to spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering a culture where quality is understood, embraced, and valued as part of everyone's role by the broader organisation. With a collaborative approach you will look to identify ways to enhance the national quality management system as well as other processes to support continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the national quality team to ensure the efficient and effective supply of safe blood and biological products.
• Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement strategy and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coach, guide and develop the Quality team to ensure high staff engagement and capability to build a workforce of champions.
• Drive continual improvement in our quality management systems and processes.
• Ownership for the Quality Assurance release of components and services from Lifeblood in accordance with SOPs and the Australian Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

• An inspiring leader with experience stemming across strategy, operations, thought-leadership, forward-planning, people management, solutions-focus and continuous improvement.
• In-depth experience at a senior level in quality management and operational leadership within a GMP regulated environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles of compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability in influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to drive and support organisational and operational change programs.
• Detail orientated and analytical thinker who harnesses data insights to apply problem solving approaches whilst maintaining a ‘helicopter' view of the organisation.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring leaders on a national scale.
• Ability to ‘think on your feet' and respond quickly to urgent issues and situations.
• Excellent understanding of quality systems and good manufacturing practices, ideally in therapeutic products, pharmaceutical or medical devices.
