Our manufacturing facilities and production teams are critical to the ongoing success of the business. Therefore, to continue to remain ahead of the pack we have two state-of-the-art production facilities with the latest European technology and expanded manufacturing capacity.
Key Purpose of Role
We are looking for a QA Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance program at our donut and pie manufacturing plants. This includes enhancing and implementing quality control processes and procedures, conducting QA inspections, analysing data and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety regulations.
Your major responsibilities will include the implementation of policies, procedures and SOPs to ensure adherence to production quality standards and controls. This will include collecting and analysing quality data for reporting purposes and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety regulations.
You will have quality oversight and lead the QA and production teams on all quality requirements in both manufacturing plants to ensure that all external and internal quality standards are met. A key focus is ensuring high quality products reach our customers every time. You will also be looking for opportunities to optimise processes in line with lean manufacturing principles and achieve waste reduction wherever possible.
Major Responsibilities
Your major responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Enhancing, developing, implementing and monitoring our quality assurance program
- Establishing and enhancing quality control procedures for all stages of the donut and pie production process, from ingredient sourcing to final packaging
- Investigating, analysing and reporting on all quality matters including quality and HACCP systems, audits and client access requirements
- Acting as a key contributor to safety at the manufacturing facilities
- Contributing to daily production meetings to review and enhance performance on a continual basis with a focus on quality, waste reduction and increases in efficiencies
- Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and correct quality or safety issues
- Ensuring the company is compliant with customer’s quality and reporting requirements
- Acting as the key contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies
- Leading the QA team on all quality requirements
- Collaborating with other departments to resolve quality related problems
Key Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, quality assurance or a related field
- CFMSR experience required
- Proficient in data analysis and report generation using relevant software tools
- Minimum 5 years industrial food manufacturing experience as a Quality Manager in an FMCG environment
- Excellent understanding of allergen management and foreign material prevention programs
- Extensive understanding of food quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma highly regarded
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of quality assurance professionals
- Full Australian working rights (essential)
