Job description

New opportunity for a Quality & Clinical Risk Manager! A dynamic role for a Clinical Professional who is passionate about the effective management of Risk.
About the Role
The Quality & Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring positive business outcomes while minimising potential risks within our hospital.
This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement initiatives, as well as identifying and addressing areas of potential risk across the hospital. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical departments, the Quality & Risk Manager establishes and upholds effective quality assurance protocols, conducts thorough analyses of processes and outcomes, and implements strategies to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Moreover, this role includes overseeing compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, facilitating staff education on risk management practices, and serving as a resource for resolving quality-related issues.
Permanent part-time position offering 40 hours per fortnight.
Your Skills and Experience

  • Relevant clinical qualifications in Nursing or Allied Health
  • Minimum of 5 years in an acute hospital setting
  • Excellent understanding of clinical governance principles
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
  • Experience in leading investigations into adverse events, near misses, and patient complaints, including root cause analysis and development of corrective action plans.
  • Experience in leading change management
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies to enhance patient outcomes and safety
  • Demonstrated expertise in data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor performance and drive quality improvement efforts
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and best practices related to quality assurance, patient safety, and risk management
  • Demonstrated ability of self-directed work that ensures good time management and delivery of role requirements with limited supervision
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and influence organisational culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy in the Microsoft Office programs and knowledge of databases (e.g. RiskMan)
  • Proven track record of successful project management, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and allocate resources effectively

Requirements
  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
