Quality Technician - Day and Afternoon Shifts available
- 12-month Fixed Term Contract
- $31.82 p/h + 15% loading on Arvo shift
- Monday- Friday, Day shift 6am-2pm, Arvo 2pm- 10pm
- MUST be citizen or PR
The role
The Quality Technician position is a hands-on, technically focused role supervised by the Quality Manager and Quality Supervisor. Its primary objective is to ensure that all activities and tasks adhere to established standards, thereby promoting continuity in Production, Quality, and Safety compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure commitment to safety in all we do and say by demonstrating adherence to Australia's Policies and Procedures
- Identification and reporting of hazards, accident, injury or near misses in line with current practices (use of electronic system, Myosh Viking)
- Support external and internal audit program.
- Perform procedural and production based internal audits
- Ensure system is maintained for filing, revision of production records (and master reference information)
- Ensure compliance and verification checks completed for production records with escalation of issues and implementation of corrective and preventative action
- Ensure system is maintained for reporting of non-complying raw materials, packaging, and finished product.
- Support with customer complaint, incident inspections and investigations and implementation of corrective and preventative action
- Provide leadership and support implementation of training program for employees in food safety and quality processes and systems
- Ensure system is maintained for calibration and servicing of equipment, preparation of samples for external testing at nominated frequency
- Ensure equipment is operating at optimum efficiency with escalation of issues to Maintenance and Quality Supervisor.
- Management of pest control program to include trends, verification activities of audits of program
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness (5S) program in work areas
- Participation in continuous improvement activities and projects
- Support commissioning of new equipment, processes and systems; and review of samples for new product launches, 1st runs
- Completion of other duties as assigned by Quality Manager/Supervisor.
- Be responsive to change or learning new ways of working and encourage others to do the same
Experience:
- Education in (Science/Food Science), or related field or significant relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 1 year working in a manufacturing/FMCG environment
- Working knowledge of WHS Practices
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practice policy
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to WHS systems and practices
- Ability to apply quality specifications applicable to the area of work
- Ability to prioritise work and competing timelines to meet expectation
- Strong commitment to the audit ready culture by demonstrating behaviour that supports this
- Ability to follow through on tasks and escalate out of scope issues in accordance to Escalation Protocol
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels
- Good numeracy and arithmetic skills
- Strong commitment to GMP and personal hygiene
- Strong focus on teamwork and delivering results
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office and applicable programs
