Ardreagh Formwork Pty Ltd is a civil formwork company based in Melbourne. Our onsite construction activities include but are not limited to civil and concrete work and structural formwork installation. Due to an increase in our workload, we have seen increased growth and require a full-time (38 hours) Quantity Surveyor to join our team to assist the construction team (Project Engineer and Construction Project Manager) with the technical aspects of the project by providing design engineering costing services. As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for estimating and monitoring construction costs from the project feasibility stage, through tender preparation, to the construction period and beyond. To maximise project margins and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.
Major Areas of Responsibility
· Liaising with contractors and clients assuming responsibility and accountability for outcomes
· Responsible for the entire tendering process
· Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budget control.
· Carrying out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
· Preparing and monitoring project cashflow forecasts
· Prepare and submit and negotiate final project accounts.
· Monitoring changes to design and assessing effects on costs
· Costing materials from various suppliers and ensuring the quality of the materials meets the design requirements.
· Making recommendations to other engineering professionals such as the design team on where costs need to be reduced if the costs of the supplies are over budget
· Forecasting labour costs, the delivery of material costs, plant and equipment costs for each job based on the design and worksheets provided by the client.
· You will be involved in signing off on contract variations if the design changes.
· You will be responsible for preparing bills of quantities.
· Verifying claims, payment, variations, contractual issues for projects.

2. Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience
· Clear understanding of and ability to interpret drawings and documentation.

- A developing skill in dealing with technical matters when required.
