We currently have an opportunity for a Rates Officer to join our Property and Rates team.
About this Role
As a Rates Officer you will provide assistance to the Coordinator Property & Rates in the rate collection process and other associated functions.
You will be required to:
- Promptly and efficiently attend to customer enquiries.
- Maintain Council’s property database with change of ownership details and prepare land information certificates.
- Effectively communicate with ratepayers including establishing and managing individual payment arrangements.
- Other administration tasks as required within the Finance Department.
About You
For this position we are seeking someone who possesses a passion for exceptional customer service. You will also exhibit a keen eye for detail by ensuring that all documentation is accurately maintained and organized.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated time management skills to achieve set objectives.
- Proven customer service experience and skills.
- Experience and/or the ability to quickly adapt, to various software packages.
An understanding of property-based rating systems would be desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and hold a valid employee Working with Children Check.
