Your RoleTo be responsible for providing high standard support and assistance to patients, visitors and caregivers and directing queries accordingly.Assist patients, visitors and general public with enquiries and directions.Receive pre-admission forms, checking health insurance details and notifying patient of any extra charges they may incur.The PositionParticipate in handover between shifts and for wards. Ensure appointments in GroupWise calendar are included.Coordinate telephone calls and messages promptly and professionally.Maintain computer records ensuring accuracy and currency of details, including new born babies.Ensures compliance with mandatory competencies and clinical requirements.Initiates and participates in staff development programs and relevant meetings at both unit and hospital level, e.g. Unit meetings and identified portfolio meetings.Participate in the documentation of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for activities that could pose an OHS risk.Caregivers are required to act in accordance with the standards of behaviour outlined in the SJGHC Code of Conduct documentYou will have relevant previous experience in a Medical Receptionist role, preferably in Patient Service. To succeed you will have a high level of computer proficiency, attention to detail and accuracy, excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise work requirements and work productively within a team environment. Dictation typing skills is highly regarded.
