THE ROLE
This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering exceptional 'front of house' services across all areas of the school. You will serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and community members, fostering positive and engaging interactions that support student learning and well-being.
Additionally, you will be assisting in providing comprehensive clerical and administrative support to internal stakeholders, including teachers, support staff, and leadership.
THE DUTIES
- Manage 'Front of House' reception duties, welcoming visitors and assisting with inquiries
- Handle telephone and switchboard operations effectively
- Receive and organise deliveries, ensuring proper storage
- Assist with sign-in/out procedures for students, staff, and visitors
- Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries from stakeholders in person, via phone, or email
- Provide administrative support including word processing, filing, room bookings, and maintaining office supplies
To be successful in this position, you will exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a friendly and professional demeanor while assisting visitors and managing inquiries at the reception desk. You should also showcase initiative, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to remain composed in various situations, contributing positively to the efficient functioning of the reception area.
The ideal candidate will have;
- Extensive experience in reception duties, preferably within an educational or child-focused environment
- Proficiency in managing telephone systems, handling deliveries, and coordinating visitor inquiries
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Must have first aid certification - HLTAID012
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing situations and handle unexpected challenges
- An 8-month temporary contract where you have ample time and opportunities to hone your skills
