AddressColac Dental Practice has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dental Receptionist/Sterilisation assistant. The role is primarily in the office and sterilisation area of the practice. To understand the intricacies of dental practice, willingness to observe and learn basic duties in the dental surgery would be a distinct advantage. Whilst experience in a reception or dental assistant role is an advantage, candidates with the right attitude and passion, with no experience, are welcome to apply. Renumeration is negotiable on experience and those under 21 with no experience, will receive base wages according to their age.
The role involves helping patients at all stages of their dental treatment including booking appointments with our practice and other specialist teams. You will need to promptly and efficiently complete tasks/follow up delegated to you by our dentists. You will be provided training to learn dental terminology and instrument names for the role. The role requires cleaning duties of a healthcare standard and cleaning of instruments used on patients meticulously. You will be required to wear PPE - including an n95 mask, gloves and safety glasses. This is required in a healthcare facility.

We are looking for a person with a great attitude, attention to detail and someone who radiates empathy and warmth to help patients with their dental health. You must be able to adapt to an ever changing environment each day and flexibility is a must. Our practice caters for all aspects of dental care across a wide age range. We provide yearly first aid training including training in the use of the in clinic defibrillator.
The role is initially casual, with a majority of shifts expected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Additional hours will be available with the possibility of a FT role for the right candidate.
