Medical Receptionist – Ascot Vale Paediatrics

1 x 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday & Friday
1 x 2 days a week - Thursday & Friday
8:30am – 5:30pm

Ascot Vale Paediatrics is a newly opened boutique paediatric practice located in Ascot Vale. We are looking for two permanent part time receptionists to join our growing team.

As the public face of the practice, we are seeking a professional, team orientated and experienced medical receptionist, who at all times reflects the ethos of superior patient care.
Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
The role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients. This is not your average receptionist role. We are a very busy team.
- Specialist receptionist duties, front desk patient management and general administration
- Responsible for working with a dedicated team of staff
- Work closely with paediatricians and allied health staff
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administrative support to paediatricians to ensure the smooth day to day operations of the clinic
- Meet and greet patients
- Reception duties
- Schedule appointments, rescheduling, confirmations.
- Sending correspondence electronically, or by post where required
- Answer telephone calls and direct appropriately
- Field appropriate email enquiries and attend to them appropriately
- Processing payments using eftpos, settlement and cash handling, claiming Medicare rebates
- Liaising with other doctors, hospitals and medical representatives
- Maintain a clean and organised clinic
- Other general administration duties
The successful candidate will have
- Previous medical reception experience, preferably in a specialist medical practice but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, focusing always on a positive patient/client experience
- Experience with Xestro medical software desirable but not essential
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organised with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with a can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Strong computer skills
