Job Description
Manages the maintenance, improvement, planning and construction of the Islands public facilities and grounds (non essential services) including the open space/reserve infrastructure, structures, trails and recreational assets in the marine and terrestrial reserve. Ensure contractual commitments are met in regard to maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
Essential * Considerable (Level 4) or substantial (Level 5) experience in the planning, development and maintenance of Recreational and public infrastructure areas.
- Considerable (Level 4) or substantial (Level 5) experience in the procurement and delivery of Recreational and public infrastructure areas including experience in implementing and managing project works.
- Considerable (Level 4) or substantial (Level 5) experience in managing contractors and contracts relating to delivery of construction and/or the maintenance of public assets including the budget management.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with strong report writing experience.
Essential * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a broader management team within a diverse organisation.
- An understanding of Occupational, Health and Safety including knowledge of Visitor Risk Management principles and practices.
- Experience/training in construction and maintenance of facilities and recreational assets.
