We currently have an opportunity for a Recruitment Manager to join us in our People Services team, for a maternity leave contract of approx. 12-months. This opportunity is based at our state office in Belmont.

The Recruitment Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, assessment, selection and onboarding of talent for St John WA. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources the position will lead a team across functional work streams that include corporate, operational and volunteer talent acquisition.
The role will partner with leaders to plan and strategically source talent to meet the varying needs of the business, and there are many!
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with specialists such as organisational psychologists, assessment providers, HR and talent gurus and universities to shape the way St John engages and selects talent for key roles such as Ambulance Paramedics, ‘000’ Call takers, Non-emergency Patient Transport Officers, Volunteers and Business support teams.
We use a number of advanced assessment techniques such as assessment centres, both in person and virtual, video interviews, psychometric assessment, skills assessment, online referencing and onboarding systems.
The role will also partner with our Communications and Brand team to plan and deliver campaigns that engage people locally, nationally and internationally with career and volunteering opportunities at St John WA.
What you’ll need:
This is a not a standard recruitment management position by any means and requires someone who:
- Has well-developed skills and experience in planning and delivering outcomes,
- Can work closely with senior stakeholders and form productive relationships,
- Can operate in a complex business environment,
- Can move quickly to meet the talent needs of the business,
- Can lead a fantastic team of people and provide opportunities via coaching and professional development,
- Has working knowledge of employment law, has experience working within generalist human resources and/or has up to date knowledge of talent and recruitment trends and practices.
