The Regional Team Leader position is a key leadership role within the Family and Children’s Services Department. The position reports to the Senior Coordinator Early Years and works alongside other teams to provide and support services that enhance the health, wellbeing and ongoing development of children, young people and their families.
The Early Years Regional Team Leader supports and leads a multidisciplinary team which includes 4 kindergarten and 2 childcare services and is responsible for contributing to strategic outcomes and driving operational efficiencies to ensure the provision of quality, compliant and responsive early years services.
The key responsibilities include;
- Providing operational leadership to manage and supervise the day to day provision of Council managed early years programs.
- Leading a multidisciplinary neighbourhood team of early years’ service leaders and managers to collaboratively plan and provide high quality, integrated and inclusive childcare and kindergarten services for families in the local community.
- Implementation of short- and long-term service plans and provision of support for teams to contribute to the achievement of the service units and broader department goals and objectives.
- Lead and support staff to participate in the strategic objectives of the business unit as they continue to deliver an integrated, family centred, child focussed practice approach to the delivery of services.
- Establish relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and maintain a positive professional network with a continuous improvement focus,
- Provide supervision to early years service leaders to ensure operational excellence and integrated service provision which is responsive to the needs of families and children.
- Actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary leadership team to implement and enhance the delivery of early years programs and to inform the development of policies and initiatives aligned to Council plans and the State Government Early Years Reform Plan.
- In partnership with the Senior Coordinator Early Years and other Team Leaders within the service unit, contribute to the planning and development of the direction of services, including the identification of gaps in service delivery and strategies to effectively respond to these gaps.
- Provide current best practice knowledge around the current trends in early years education and service delivery to contribute to service planning and operational improvements and actively support pedagogy.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and previous Regional Lead/Area Manager experience and a desire to improve early learning outcomes, whilst driving operational efficiencies to ensure the provision of quality, compliant and responsive early years services.
