As such, we are currently looking for an experienced Regional Health & Safety Manager to implement and drive an accountable and positive safety culture across our VIC projects.
About the Role:
Responsible for the implementation of workplace Health and Safety management systems and practices across the organization and project sites, ensuring compliance with WHS regulatory, legislative and client requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promoting a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace and on site to promote and ensure safe work practices.
- Ensure the regular actioning of safety reports and carrying out workplace/site inspections as and when required.
- Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the safety management system across projects including policies, procedures, manuals and practices, and electronic reporting platforms.
- Provide advice, information, instruction and training to staff and contractors on Work Health & Safety obligations, the safety management system, and relevant guidelines and legislative requirements.
- Support the operational managers by ensuring a safety-first culture to prevent potential risk, and support investigations, near misses, breaches or breaches in safety processes and procedures.
Personal Experience and Qualifications:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent.
- Chartered status with the Safety Institute of Australia or international equivalent (ASSE, IOSH etc.).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role in the construction industry within Australia.
- Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects preferable.
- Fully proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Well-honed and able to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and have self-initiative.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationship with key stakeholders.
