AddressMy Building Certifier is an established certification firm specialising in low density residential projects (Class 1 & 10 buildings). We are a small team of building surveyors where collaboration is encouraged, mentoring is provided, and strong project management is expected.
Based in Kirrawee (Southern Sydney), we service the Sydney Metropolitan and Illawarra areas. Our extensive client base includes architects/building designers and custom builders.
About the role
As we are experiencing ongoing growth, we are currently seeking a Registered Building Inspector to join our team.
We are also considering qualified builders with a Certificate IV in Building & Construction, who are looking to move over into the field.
Registered Building Inspector (formerly A4)
In this role you will be:
- Carrying out critical stage inspections
- Liaising with all stakeholders
- Liaising with councils, agencies and other third parties as necessary
- Building client relationships
- Assisting with client enquiries
Applicants must possess
The ability to apply and communicate your knowledge of relevant legislation, BCA/NCC and relevant Australian Standards.
You will need to be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and work in a team environment.
Specifically, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience as a Registered Building Inspector with NSW Fair Trading, or;
- A builder with a Certificate IV in Building & Construction qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation, BCA/NCC and Australian Standards, with the ability to apply that knowledge to the assessment of applications, to conduct mandatory inspections and to clearly convey information to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to multi-task and manage your workload, with a high attention to detail.
- A detailed understanding of planning controls and the principles that underpin them.
- Experience using Building Certification Systems, or equivalent database software.
- High proficiency in English.
- Permitted to work in Australia.
- A Class C driver’s licence.
