Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program

 Ever considered a career in the country? The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to support new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles.  It is available to new and existing nurses working full-time, part-time on fixed-term and permanent contracts across 76 select sites. Eligible nurses and midwives may receive between $5,000 and $17,000 paid over 12-months.

About the REGION

Esperance (Kepa Kurl) is a town on the south coast of Western Australia. Its beaches include calm Blue Haven, and West Beach, with its surf breaks. Nearby, Cape Le Grand National Park has beaches like Lucky Bay, plus heathlands and wildflowers. Offshore, the Recherche Archipelago islands shelter fur seals and sea lions. On Middle Island, Lake Hillier is a striking shade of pink. In town, Pink Lake is sometimes pink.

About the OPPORTUNITY

We current have 1.00 FTE to fill on a Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time or Fixed Term Part time basis with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

In the South of the Region, Esperance is the major population centre. The Esperance Community Health team is co-located with members of the Allied Health team at Esperance Population Health on Forest Street.

Visiting services are provided as necessary to the small communities of Norseman, Gibson, Scaddan,Grass Patch, Salmon Gums, Condingup and Cascade. The Community Health provide the services:

• Health Promotion
• Immunisation
• School Health
• Aboriginal Health
• Child Health
• Ear Health

Key responsibilities include:

In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager – Community Health and Clinical Nurses, the Registered Nurse Community is responsible for the provision of quality primary health care to children and families.
