About the role
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to work at our Alpha Carers Australia facility. This is a permanent position working a variety of AM, PM and night shifts across the 7-day week. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Registered Nurse in Disability or Aged Care, and understanding be someone that is passionate about assisting our residents with their daily needs.

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Tracheostomy Management Experience
- PEG feeding competency
- Quadraplegia work experience
- Ability to lead and mentor staff
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to problem solve and take initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-developed assessment and report writing skills
- Evidence of up to date Influenza Vaccination
- Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one (obtained within the last 12 months)
- Residential Aged Care and or Disability care experience is desirable, but not mandatory
- Current First Aid and Manual Handling
The tasks and responsibilities involve -
- ADLs
- Clinical documentation management
- PEG feed / Dysphagia management
- Tracheostomy / ventilator Management
- Night shifts (active)
- Community access - Driving experience is an advantage
- Compassion and genuine interest in working with clients with disability support need.
- Engaging in rehab therapy with clients
