About the role
An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join the Barwon Health MND Clinic. The clinic is located at the McKellar Centre in North Geelong and is part of the state-wide model of care for people with progressive neurological diseases being led by Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB).
The Nurse in the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) clinic is responsible for:
Providing clinical leadership in Nursing to ensure the provision of safe, high quality nursing care services for patients living in the Barwon South West region accessing the MND Clinic
Providing flexible and responsive nursing care, applying evidence based, informed, client centred practices, within a non-admitted subacute specialist clinic setting.
Working effectively & collaboratively as an inter-professional team member alongside medical and allied health disciplines.
Participating in inter-professional teaching, supervision, support and development of students in the clinic.
Completing joint medical / nursing assessments and actioning all patient follow up post medical/nursing assessments in a timely manner.
Working with the team to continuously monitor, analyse and develop the MND service in line with the Barwon Health Strategic Plan and the relevant Service Plan(s).
